Techy Kids in the Middle Room!
We are lucky in our school to have 50 inch TVs in our classes that are on wheels.  We attach our Apple TV boxes to these TVs so that we can mirror any work we are doing or have completed through the big television.  This allows us to show our work to the rest of the class and our teachers. Miss Ward and Miss Chapman also use the TV to show us things through and they are using google docs like a whiteboard for things like brainstorms.  They type onto a document and we can all see what they are typing on the TV.
Soon Miss Ward and Miss Chapman will be using their iPads to teach lessons to us through the Apple TV.  How cool is that?! Our class is becoming very techno-savvy with having five desktop computers, two Apple laptops and seven iPads.  Miss Ward has given us the opportunity to even do our homework online through our google accounts which is really neat.  We are going to be doing more and more online through our google accounts and we have started off this term by doing writing online which adds to some of  our reading work we do online.  It is choice to be a student in the middle room, we are learning lots about technology!!

We are having an open morning at school later this term so people can come in and see how we use all our awesome technology.  Watch this space for a date and time...!

Check out some photos of the new TVs:

Here is the TV on wheels in our classroom.  It has the Apple TV box attached to it.  The Apple TV box is a small black box that sits on the top of the TV and is plugged into the TV so that we can mirror anything from an Apple device like an iPad, laptop or iPhone.

Julienne is using the TV to present her morning programme through.

Bree, Iara and Taylor standing in front of the TV as it mirrors an Explain Everything (iPad app creator) about our recent school Hangi.

It's pretty cool to be in our class!

  2. Hi Mrs Keach
Thank you for your comment on our blog! We are excited that you and your class at Romahapa are following what we are getting up too over here at Waiwera South Primary School in the middle room! We worked really hard on our recounts about making iTrailers and we like that you are going to use them to help your class write recounts!
