Fire Brigade Visit
Yesterday we were lucky enough to get a visit from Maurice, John, Darrell and Noodle from the Waiwera South Fire Brigade. It was very interesting to see what appliances were on and inside the truck. We got to sit in the fire engine and also have a go at using the fire hose. Darell then got dressed up in the Breathing Apparatus and showed us how it works and why it is an essential piece of equipment. The fireman finished by answering some of our questions and talked to us about what to do if we are ever in a fire. Thank you very much to the men from the Waiwera South Fire Brigade for coming along. We really appreciated it.

Fire Safety
Here are some photos of us doing Fire Safety yesterday...
This week we have started learning about Fire Safety as part of our inquiry unit on 'How Safe Are You?". We did some mucking in with the Junior Room about our ideas on Fire Safety. Today we have a visit from some Fire Officers and we even get to go to the Fire Station for a visit...exciting!
